NetMeter is a bandwidth metering software for Windows. This application takes a rather simplistic approach, which is always good. We don't really want a huge screen telling us what our download and upload speeds are. We want something small and to the point, and NetMeter delivers in those regards. This application is presented in a 160x160 square screen on top of your other Windows. However, you can send the application to the tray and work it from there. After you install the application, you will see that bars start appearing on the screen. Those are a graphic representation of your speeds, which you can also read from the bottom of the screen. The application will seat on your tray and carry out a sum of everything you download and upload. Thus, at any time, you can right click the tray icon and go to Totals, which will tell you everything you have downloaded since you installed the application. All in all, this application works great but it is shy of a perfect score because it would be nice if it had some extra features, like a calculator, or a scheduler. |
